Hazrat Abu Idris Al Khaulani (R) narrates that when Ameerul Mu'mineen Hazrat Umar ibnul Khattab (R) recalled Hazrat Umair bin Sa'd (R) as the governor of Hims he appointed Hazrat Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan (R) in place of him. The people were surprised and said, “He (Ameerul Mu'mineen) removed Umair (R) and appointed Muawiyah t?” Hazrat Umair (R) replied, “Only speak highly about Muawiyah t. Verily I heard Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) making dua, 'O Allah! Guide others through him.'” (Sunanut Tirmizi)
